ABOUT THE ORGANIZER

The Handyman Journey

Handyman Journey

Sacramento, CA USA

Allen runs a handyman business in Sacramento, CA out of a 5' x 8' utility trailer.

He puts out a ton of handyman content on his Youtube channel.

He likes the size and he likes working out of the trailer.

But:

He says if he was going to change it, he'd make it a foot taller so he wouldn't have to crouch in it.

He's got some great little design elements to keep it organized, although he says that it's not the most organized or neat.

He built a plywood drawer storage system to hold small tools and supplies. He keeps separate drawers for things like plumbing, electrical, and miscellaneous items. Cubbies also hold individual tools.

A workbench, sawhorses, and levels all fit into slots in the back of the trailer. These are easy to pull straight out the back. A larger slot-style cubby also fits a broom and shovels.

Allen is able to power the trailer so he can run his compressor, saws, or battery chargers. He's got an outlet on the front of the trailer and one midway down, but he tends to not use the front mounted outlet.
