Transiting to Another Transit Van

This residential plumber's Ford Transit 250 is a low roof, short body model. He describes the current van organization as "not the greatest", but he's got some good ideas here that should transfer to the new van he's getting, a Ford Transit 350, high roof, extended body.

The van's organization primarily uses bins, shelves, and several Milwaukee Packouts to store tools and supplies.

A homemade plywood shelf system at the rear of the van has some nice touches:

• Tool batteries sit in a couple of different holders at the cargo doors for easy access.
• A wrench rack made of Unistrut and PVC pipe keeps large pipe wrenches organized on the back of the plywood shelving unit.
• The verticals at the top of the plywood shelf have a semicircle cut out of them. Right now, this is where the curb key sits, but this idea could be expanded on for other tools and materials.
