Michael's Walk-In Refrig (and Sometimes Service) Truck

The Cab

The clean crew cab has his Veto Pro Pac backpack is ready to go and holds the small hand tools and meters that are required on any job. He likes to keep all his tape measures conveniently in the door and has a 5 gallon bucket for trash, the only trash bucket that he says doesn't fall over!

Tools on One Side, Supplies on the Other

The cabinets on the utility body help with organizing the tools he needs for refrigeration and HVAC installation work.

He says that he tries not to keep stuff on the truck unless he uses it, because the extra stuff just makes it cluttered. The cabinets are clean and organized, so things are easy to see and easy to grab.

One side is primarily tools, the other is for supplies. Although he primarily does install, he's sometimes on call on the weekends, which means he needs to keep a decent inventory of service parts.

The cabinet doors are steel, so Michael's able to hang some commonly used tools on the door with magnetic hooks: gator clips, grinding wheels, and wrenches.

Bottles in the Bed

Michael carries several refrigerant tanks, and lots of small and large oxy-acetylene bottles.

He goes through a lot of oxygen and acetylene, so he eventually mounted some larger tanks on the truck. A 50' quick-connect hose means that he can often pull up next to the roof of a building and run his torch from the truck, about as easy as hauling up his small Victor setup.

A less accessible Ridgid jobsite box sits in the bed of the truck and holds Seal-Tite and wire that he uses less frequently. He finds that this works well since carrying wire can be a little awkward, but it fits the box just fine.
